John graduated from Lake Forest College in 1979 with a B.A. in economics and part of the College Scholar Program. His required Senior Thesis, for which he received an A, was "The Economic and Political Feasibility of a Monetary Union in Western Europe". Since college, John has worked in the global financial markets in Chicago, New York, Paris and London before settling in Florida. He has an expertise in US, European and Asian markets including stocks, bonds, commodities and foreign exchange. He is fluent in French and divides his time between Florida and France.
